The Story Behind Grounded Intention
The shift from doing to

Our Story
I’m so glad you’re here.
When I first started teaching, I thought the goal was to fix what I saw. Strengthen the weak spot. Stretch what felt tight. Align what looked out of place. But over and over, the same patterns returned. People put in effort, yet still lived with pain and stress that would not ease.
I knew that struggle because I had lived it myself. Movement alone was not enough. Healing asked for something deeper. It required safety in the nervous system, awareness of the emotions and beliefs held in the body, and space to reconnect in new ways. This was the seed of a shift that would keep unfolding in my work and in my life.
How it Started
Movement has always been my teacher. It showed me the beauty of expression through dance, the structure of Pilates and exercise science, and eventually the deeper truth: alignment alone is not enough. For years, I approached bodies like puzzles. A lifted shoulder meant you corrected it. But real healing asks a different question: why is that pattern there. A shoulder that holds tension may be protecting a weaker area. A hip that will not open may be guarding because it is not ready. Forcing change rarely lasts. Meeting the body with curiosity allows change that stays.
The changes never lasted when I ignored this. Not for my clients and not for me. My own body made it impossible to overlook with pain, exhaustion, and burnout. I thought I was connected, but I was overriding what I felt. I pushed harder instead of listening. I sought external validation because I thought something was wrong with me. Slowing down became my turning point. I learned the body is not just mechanics. It carries stories, beliefs, desires, and protections. When we meet those with care, long-held patterns can release in ways that are lasting and real. Grounded Intention was born from this truth. It is an invitation into presence, discovery, and wholeness.
Why We Shifted
Grounded Intention grew from this truth. Correction has its place, but it is not the whole story. Our work is not about chasing symptoms or forcing change. It is about listening, integrating, and honoring the whole person. When movement becomes presence, the shifts stay with you beyond the studio and into your life.
Our Philosophy
At Grounded Intention, our whole-person approach empowers you to become an expert of your own body through compassionate listening and curiosity. Our work is anchored in five pillars that shape how we serve our clients and community, creating a foundation for lasting well-being so you can feel connected, present, and grounded in your life.
The Five Pillars
Whether you're recovering from injury, navigating stress, or rebuilding your relationship with your body, these five pillars create the space for your body to remember what it already knows: how to move, how to heal, and how to feel whole.
-
Movement is never just physical. We support clients in reconnecting to their bodies, emotions, breath, and energy to recognize that healing happens through the whole person, not in isolation.
-
Instead of chasing symptoms, we bring awareness to what’s happening underneath. Postural, behavioral, neurological, or emotional causes may be contributing to pain, disconnection, or movement challenges.
-
We offer a combination of functional training, somatic, body mapping exploration, Pilates, Neuro-Training, and mindfulness practices for holistic integration in the format that best suits our clients.
-
We prioritize understanding and exceeding customer expectations. By creating personalized, high-quality experiences, we build lasting relationships with our clients and community.
-
We don’t do this work alone. Our practice is made up of licensed physical therapists, chiropractors, mental health and life coaches, and nutritionists so we can provide integrated care.
